The service

TFSA Tracker ("the app") helps Canadian residents track Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA) contribution room. Features include manual tracking of contributions and withdrawals, contribution-room calculations, and optional automatic import of account activity through Plaid.

Not tax or financial advice

The app is a tracking aid, not an official CRA statement. Contribution-room figures, excess warnings, and tax estimates are calculations based on the information you provide and the limits you enter. Your official TFSA room is determined by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). We are not responsible for discrepancies, penalties, or tax consequences arising from reliance on the app's estimates. Verify your room with the CRA (My Account) before making contribution decisions.

Your account

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter, including your date of birth, residency year, and manual transactions. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.

Connected accounts

If you connect financial accounts through Plaid, you authorize us and Plaid to access and import the account and transaction information you select, on an ongoing basis until you disconnect. You can disconnect at any time in Settings; disconnecting stops further imports and deletes the imported data for that connection.

Automatic imports depend on your financial institution and Plaid. Imports may be delayed, incomplete, or misclassified (for example, transfers between two TFSAs may initially appear as a withdrawal and a contribution). Review your activity and delete or correct entries as needed.

Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the app with accounts you are not authorized to access; attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service; or use the app for unlawful purposes.

Availability and changes

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. Imported-data features depend on third-party services (Plaid, your financial institution) beyond our control.

Liability

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability arising from your use of the app is limited, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including tax penalties.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
